About Lethbridge Therapy Centre

lethbridge therapy centre team

Lethbridge Therapy Centre was born out of a genuine desire to support individuals through the challenges life throws at us.

After working in many fields within the helping profession as counsellors/therapists, the four of us came together and started the adventure of private practice. We know the value of working collaboratively and effectively within a team environment as it allows for regular consultation to ensure we are providing the best services to you and/or your loved ones.

Together, we are excited to have created a warm and inviting space where you will feel safe to explore tough topics.

We are passionate about family and community. We have all been fortunate to raise our children here in Lethbridge, and know that together, we can all be stronger.

Christina Lawrence, MSW, RCSW, RPT

Christina has a masters degree in social work and also holds the clinical designation of registered clinical social worker. She has been providing therapy and support for children, youth, and their families since 2004, giving her 20 years of direct clinical experience in the field. Christina uses the language of children: Play, to go beyond talk and get to the core of what is happening, allowing children to process and work through any unhelpful emotions or behaviors that are present in their life. She helps adolescents in the same way, with the use of expressive arts, EMDR, CBT, and DBT. She meets children and youth where they are at and creates a treatment plan that best fits with their presenting concerns, developmental age and stage, capacity, temperament, and interests.

Jennifer Pugh, Registered Psychologist, M.A.

I am a Registered Psychologist with ten years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. My practice is person-centred and strength-based. I believe that people inherently thrive when they are provided with safe and meaningful connections with others. I integrate a variety of approaches and techniques, depending on your particular needs and goals for therapy. My aim is to build a relationship that is both comfortable enough to offer a safe place to talk and be heard, but also challenging enough to support you in moving toward your goals. I may use techniques from emotionally-focused family therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, or dialectical-behavioural therapy. I am also trained in EMDR and have taken additional training in Attachment-Focused EMDR, which I have found to be helpful for many people who have experienced trauma or other adverse life events.

It has often been said that play is a child’s work, and I believe that it is one of the primary ways that children learn. As a result, I offer ways for my young clients to express themselves and learn new skills through play, art, or sand. When appropriate, I try to involve parents and family members in the therapy process.

I count it a privilege to hear and walk with my clients during the seasons in their life. I look forward to meeting you:)

Dalayna Taverner, MSW, RSW

I am honoured to have accompanied my clients on their journey towards self-healing, witnessing their resilience as they confront and overcome their struggles. With a Master's degree specializing in trauma, I am fortunate to bring a wealth of knowledge to my counselling practice.

With over a decade of experience working with individuals grappling with mental health concerns, I have come to understand the profound significance of the therapeutic relationship and collaborative approach. Meeting clients where they are and pacing therapy according to their needs are fundamental principles in my practice.

I am passionate about supporting individuals—children, teens, and adults—as they address past traumas, navigate current challenges, and strive for future growth. Grounded in a trauma-informed approach, I utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, S.A.F.E. EMDR, mindfulness, expressive therapies such as art and sand, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and more.

Kaleigh Rey, Registered Psychologist #7497, M.C., B.H. Sc.: Addictions Counselling

I am passionate about my work as a helping professional & feel honoured to support the individuals & families I work with!

For over ten years, I have worked with children, teens, & adults experiencing mental health concerns, trauma, & addiction in various settings such as outreach, residential, government programs, & private practice.

My work is rooted in theoretical knowledge that ensures my sessions are purposeful & intentional. My theoretical knowledge has been supplemented with more than 1,500 supervised practicum hours, and I am currently working towards my additional 1,600 supervised hours to be a psychologist.

My approach with clients explores what it means to be human in relation to all past, present, & future perceptions of experiences. I pull techniques from multiple therapies & I frequently use EMDR to build individual resources (coping skills) & process past traumatic events. I am also experienced in art therapy & sand tray therapy.

I believe that people are unique & need treatment plans specific to their presenting concerns, personality, strengths, & resources. I look forward to learning about each of you through a collaborative process that guides us towards your goals.
